Welcome aboard!

This is the Patrick Harvie many of us have been waiting a long time to see. The Greens have, in the past, been a little too fond of politicking. Seeming on occasion to be actively seeking out excuses to indulge in the kind of horse-trading that and attention seeking that has caused some to question their commitment to independence. I think it fair to say that, while there was always respect for the stance taken by Scottish Greens on a number of issues, there was also a certain distrust when it came to the constitutional question.

That lack of confidence has now been addressed. It used to be said that the SNP is the only party which is unequivocally and unconditionally committed to independence. We may now include the Scottish Greens in that category. Which can only be a good thing for Scotland.

I was beginning to think that the Scottish Green Party would never get there as far as Independence was concerned, but finally, it feels like they’ve arrived. Now, let’s hope that the SNP and Greens can work effectively together.
