Well, it didn’t take long for the in-fighting to begin – one whole month to be exact.
I have to admit though, I think it’s a very bold move by David Cameron to declare to his ministers to either toe the government line or be sacked. It will be very interesting to see if he sticks to his word. If he does, we could be seeing the backs of; Gove, IDS and Hammond. However, I suspect, those three will not risk throwing their careers away for the sake of something like the EU referendum. Only men of principle, such as the late Charles Kennedy, do such things.
I suppose time will tell.
No sooner had I written this little bit when Cameron’s already done a u-turn. So there you have it – he’s a weak leader. Now, the rebels in his Party know they have him right where they want him.
This does not bode well for the country over the next 5 years.
